In the F35 category Amy-Jo Clarke (4th), Cecilia Siruffo (5th) and Michelle Collins (10th) picked up team silver medals, with Sarah Fiddes providing excellent backup in 14th. In her first cross country race since school days, Beth Davies finished a very strong 10th in the F45 category. Susanna Harrison picked up our first gold medal of the day with a clear victory in the F55 race.
A record seven GGAC teams competed in the Priory Relays on Saturday afternoon. As is becoming a habit recently, the teams came away with several prizes.
The men's A team of Tom Foster, Sam Begg, Matt McDaniel and Andrew Crooks narrowly missed an overall win, but finished well clear of 3rd place. The team's second place was matched by Tom also taking the second fastest leg of the day.

Congratulations to Ali Smith who has been selected to represent Great Britain in the World Para Championships in Dubai in form the 7th to the 15th of November.
It was Ali, who in March this year, presented the awards at our Presentation evening. We wish her the very best of luck in Dubai.
Congratulations to Hannah Irwin on being selected to compete for England in the International 10k road race against the Celtic countries and other European nations in Rennes on October 10th.
South of England Road Relays - 22nd September

Our U13G team was placed 6th, U15G (A team) 6th and U15G (B team) 31st and U17W team 14th. Unfortunately, the U17M team ran as an incomplete team but after 3 legs they were in 4th position overall. Well done to GGAC runners who competed.
European Masters Athletics Championships in Venice Italy Sept 2019
GGAC also had Louise Wood at the European Masters Championships in Italy.
The weather on the Friday evening was hideous. Torrential rain and no cover for the entire competition which lasted over 1hr 40mins. In very difficcult conditions and a less that perfectly organnised competition, it was very diffcult to maintain concentration.
On a warm sunny afternoon, a large squad of GGAC runners took on 26 other Surrey-based clubs in the County Road Relay Championships held at Wimbledon Park.
With each leg comprising of just under 3miles, including a sharp climb up past the famous tennis courts of SW19, the Guildford teams were keen to put in a strong performance in the build up to the Southern Road Relays later in the month.
