Following successful performances over the past year, a number of GGAC athletes were invited to the Müller British Athletics Championships and World Championship Trials in Birmingham.
Continuing her successful season, Jasmine Mitchell competed in the 400m hurdles in her first senior British Championships. Jasmine finished 7th in her heat as an u23, in a time of 62.89.
Adelle Tracey, and Chloe Crossman competed in the 800m. After a brave run in the heats, Adelle qualified for the final on Sunday. Adelle held her own in the final, in arguably the most competitive race of the weekend, finishing 7th. Chloe finished 6th in her heat, running a new lifetime best by 1.4 seconds, 2:08.40.
On a day where temperatures reached 30*C, Hannah Irwin took on the 5000m. Unfortunately due to ongoing illness she was unable to finish. We wish Hannah all the best in her recovery.
After a successful season, including a bronze medal at the England 5000m Championships, John Sanderson finished 8th in a tactical 5000m.
All athletes would like to thank the club for their support this weekend.
