The girls U17/15/13 team came out on top in the Lily B cup meeting held at Epsom on Saturday. We had finished second to Kingston and Polytechnic Harriers in the 3 meeting summer league but managed to have our revenge in the Cup. It was very much a team effort and valuable points were gathered by people obligingly filling gaps in the scoring team. There were also some good results in the non- scoring events.

For the Under 17's on the field out of the four throwing events we had three clean sweeps with Anna Brophy and Jessica Pelham winning the A and B javelin with lifetime bests of 27m 52 and 18m 62 Ellie Grove and Tandia Pritchard the shot put and Tandia and Jessica the discus. In the hammer Jessica came second in the A and Tandia first in the B. Jessica Hall won the A pole vault. Chloe Edwards won the A high jump and was second in the B long jump with Anna taking second place in the A long jump. On the track there were wins in the A 80m hurdles for Marcey Winter and Ellie Grove in the 100m and Ellie was second in the A 200m with Jessica Hall second in both the B sprint races.

For the Under 15's there was a win for Ellie Sakaria in the A 1500m and for Lucy West in the hammer. Three of the Club's 75m hurdlers, Alex Mearns, Georgina Gough - Willetts and Lara Davies finished with the same -12.2, Alex coming second in the A race , Georgina winning the B and Lara winning the non- scoring event. Alex went on to come second in the A discus with a new lifetime best throw of 2m 05 while Lucy won the B event. In the javelin Lucy was second and Ella Gibbons was the B string winner. There were second places in A events for Martine Scott in the high jump, Alice Hillary in the 100m and Charlotte Griffiths in the 800m. In this race Lara ran a lifetime best to win the B event.

For the Under 13's. Daisy Little and Briony Bovell won the A and B long jump. Briony had earlier knocked half a second off her personal best when she came second in the A 70m hurdles in 12.1. The middle distance girls were in form with Phoebe Matravers winning the A 800m and Susi Lecoutre the 1500m. Tilly Jarvis -Smith was second in the B 800m. Chloe Hextall won the A high jump with a leap of 1m 35. Again the throwers scored good points with Eliza Sutton and Phoebe winning the A and B javelin and Funto Olatokun and Flori MacKinnon making it a clean sweep of wins in the discus.

Final scores G & G 318, Kingston &Poly 295, Croydon 294, Reigate Priory 121, Herne Hill 10.
