On a very cold Thursday training evening in January GGAC were visited by a notable group of people from England Athletic:
Matthew Dalton – Chair of the England Council and EA Board Member
Emma Davenport – Head of Clubs & Participation and
England Athletics Club Support Officer, Kirsty Fardell
It was a rare honour to be visited by such a prominent team, who spent time watching training and speaking with Officials and Coaches.
At the end of the evening they said they generally visited failing clubs and it was a pleasure to visit a very successful one
They said they were very impressed and commended GGAC on our competitive achievements and also on our organisation and structure
EA congratulated us on having up to date 7/7 Club Standards, the highest level they require and one a great many clubs fail to achieve
These policies, which are reviewed annually, are on Club Constitution, and include; Committee roles, Health & Safety rules, Safeguarding and Welfare Standards and Codes of Conduct
Full marks to GGAC and to all who contribute toward making this a great athletic club
